Salena Hamilton
Voters in Windsor Wards #5, #6, #7, and #8 can trust Salena Hamilton to defend parents’ rights, uphold Canadian law, and ensure GECDSB policies are applied with fairness, transparency, and accountability. With decades of community service and a proven record of principled advocacy, she is committed to restoring academic excellence and strengthening trust between families and the school board.
Salena has been personally invested in the welfare, stability, and future of the Windsor‑Essex community, reaching back to the original build of Casino Windsor, relocation of Erie Wildlife for the new Parkway and relocation of The Downtown Mission to the former Central Library building. Her work reflects a clear pattern: showing up where decisions meet reality, to defend heritage, uphold Canadian law, and champion the rights of families and students. Salena’s approach is defined by courage, discernment, and an unwavering commitment to principled governance.
In December 2025, Salena formally applied and interviewed to fill a vacant seat on the GECDSB Board. Her candidacy demonstrated both her readiness to serve and the Board’s recognition of her extensive policy knowledge, community involvement, and principled advocacy.
Between 2024 and 2026, Salena became a familiar and respected voice at Greater Essex County District School Board meetings. She addressed Trustees on a wide range of critical issues, including the Education Act, Ontario Education Services Corporation training modules, Delegation procedures, Ontario Human Rights Code, Canadian Charter protections, Gender Identity and Expression policies, Parental involvement in consent and exemption processes, Flag protocol, Human Development and Sexual Health exemptions, and the application of GECDSB’s Human Rights policy. Her presentations consistently emphasized the need for transparency, statutory fidelity, and respect for parental authority.
Her commitment to the fair and just application of Canadian law became especially visible during the COVID‑era mandates. As a Director with the Conservative Party of Canada, Salena served as a Policy Contributor to address issues of mobility rights and informed consent, advocating for constitutional clarity at a time when many Canadians sought relief from unlawful restrictions. In 2023, she joined Action4Canada, supporting parents concerned about curriculum drift, secrecy policies, and the erosion of foundational academic priorities.
As a Trustee candidate, Salena’s goal is to revitalize public education by restoring excellence in core academics, strengthening parental involvement, and ensuring that GECDSB policies remain grounded in Canadian constitutional principles. Guided by conviction and shaped by decades of service, she remains committed to building a stronger, more accountable Windsor‑Essex for generations to come.
Salena explains the importance of parental consent and clear exemption processes for minors, raising concerns about psychological testing, gender‑accommodation plans, and policies that permit male students to access female washrooms, changerooms, and sports.
